How to Withdraw

Withdrawing from a course

Rutgers University will only accept a written withdraw request from a student enrolled in a noncredit course. If you wish to withdraw from a course, you should contact the unit offering the course.  Or you can send an email requesting to withdraw by using the email address contained within the enrollment confirmation email. Withdraw requests will not be granted over the telephone.

Refund from a course

Once you enroll in a course, you agree to the refund policy attached to that particular course. Students are strongly encouraged to read the refund policy for each course. Refund policies will differ from for each course and each continuing education unit. It is the responsibility of the student to understand the terms of the refund before enrolling and agreeing to make any type of payment for a course. The university stipulates that each course is posted for enrollment must have a clear refund policy.

Cancellation of a course

From time to time, the university or continuing education units may need to cancel a class due to weather emergencies, facility issues, instructor illness, or other extenuating circumstances. If a course cancelation should occur, the continuing education unit will follow the posted cancelation policy associated with the course in question. Students can find a course cancelation policy by using the course number on the course confirmation email.
